Coming up .....Winter 2008/9

OPEN REHEARSAL taught by DOM MARSHALL (ABC ASSOCIATE CHOREOGRAPHER) SUNDAY 30 NOVEMBER 1 P.M., £3

Join us for a chance to watch an Anglian Ballet Company rehearsal. Dom Marshall, the assistant director of the English Youth Ballet, will lead a rehearsal of his ballet, The Angel. This is suitable for all ages and promises to be great fun. 

BALLET BARRE (BEGINNERS TO ELEMENTARY) taught by NEIL RUNSWICK (ARTISTIC DIRECTOR, ABC)  SUNDAY 7 DECEMBER 1 P.M., £1

ABC’s Artistic Director, choreographer, and Ballet Master, Neil Runswick, invites you to try a gently paced barre. Whether you have danced before or would like to try it for the first time, this workshop is for you. The exercises and reasons for doing them are explained clearly.

CONTEMPORARY WARM UP (BEGINNERS TO ELEMENTARY) taught by BRUNO CARTER SUNDAY 14 DECEMBER 1 P.M., £2

Bruno, a former soloist with the Gothenburg Ballet in Sweden, will give his warm up, based on Robert North’s sequence which fuses the Graham technique with Yoga and Pilates. Suitable for anyone, the sequence will be carefully explained before taught. The class will last approximately 90 minutes. Bruno is a freelance teacher with companies in Sweden and assists with opera direction.

BALLET CENTRE (BEGINNERS TO ELEMENTARY) taught by NEIL RUNSWICK (ARTISTIC DIRECTOR, ABC) SUNDAY 21 DECEMBER 1 P.M., £2

Beginning with a shorter warm up than a traditional barre, the workshop will follow on and explore the centre work and the principles of jumping, turning, and movement in dance. The class is gently paced and well explained.

 YOGA taught by SHIONA WILSON SUNDAY 4 JANUARY 1 P.M., £2

This session comprises exercises and postures which once learnt can be easily practised at home. Shiona has been practising Yoga for over 20 years and is here to help you get the New Year off to a positive start! The class will end with meditation. A hand out will be given for future reference.

 WORKING WITH MASKS taught by DOM MARSHALL (ABC ASSOCIATE CHOREOGRAPHER) SUNDAY 11 JANUARY 1 P.M., £2

Dom will take you through the learning process of wearing masks and the psychological process of conveying through the body what the mask is portraying. This is not suitable for younger people, but a real learning curve for  every body else! Masks provided.

MIME FOR BEGINNERS taught by NEIL RUNSWICK (ARTISTIC DIRECTOR, ABC) SUNDAY 18 JANUARY 1 P.M., £2

Learn the secrets of Classical Mime and express through modern techniques some of your inner emotions. Suitable  for all ages.
